Michael’s personal vision of a shop, where artists, architects, engineers and craftsmen work together under one roof is Michael Hammers Studios. That handcraft is the solid fundament of art was given to Michael by his master teacher, German sculptor Paul Nagel. Michael himself is one of the ultimate true masters of blacksmithing and today he not only teaches the apprentices in the Studio’s workshop, but also welcomes groups of pupils and holds seminars for design and architectural students from European Universities.
Michael always breaks down professional and cultural barriers that abound. This is also because the Studio’s office is a multicultural, young and resilient team of architects and designers, constructional and lighting engineers. Inspired by artistic visions and architectural designs and guided by Michael they do first-class visualisation, engineering and design to production. They create virtually what the guys in the shops then fabricate, ship and install, worldwide.
